I'm a retired health care provider and active skating mom(zilla) and adult skater.
Heather Ross is a nurse practitioner consultant and educator, who has retired from clinical practice to focus on being a mother to her three daughters. In retirement, she found herself embroiled in the world of figure skating as a skating mom and adult skater. She has discovered the phenomenon of the skating mom, and found it startlingly similar to the stage mother. Despite her best intentions, she has had moments of Momzilla, and has begun to understand the species in an effort to bring an element of sanity, previously thought to be lost, to the world of competitive youth sports and performance.
